Applying the decorative elements to your Charge Book can be done by either stamping/tooling, or by laser engraving. Of course, the two approaches can be used together.
The first picture on the left is an example of a stamped/tooled design. The particular design is cut into the leather and special tools are used to create a three dimeisional effect. The second picture is an example of a combined approach. The rope border around the outside is stamped/tooled, while the Coast Guard Emblem and Core Value are burned into the leather with a laser engraver.
